This year is our first Christmas in a house! We moved into this house the day after Christmas last year & because Christmas was over, we didn’t put our decorations back up. So this house hasn’t been decorated for Christmas yet! But I’ve had SO many ideas since we moved in & I was so excited to finally put up all of our decorations! This post is part one because I am still working on our Coffee Bar, Bar Cart, and will update our Dining Room after Thanksgiving (this is the only part of the house still decorated for fall). I am also still looking for other Christmas decorations. Once again, all of the decor that we had for our apartment doesn’t really “fill up” the house because it’s about the twice the size (just like all of our Halloween decor). My boy friend and I are also going to build a fireplace to put by the tree so we can put our stockings on! But for now this is our current Christmas set up and I will have Part Two once everything is decorated!
Entertainment Stand
Our entertainment stand is decorated similar to last year. Each side has a Picture Frame Christmas Stocking Holder with a Plaid Stocking both are from Hobby Lobby several years ago and are discontinued. I added initial ornaments for the Target Dollar Spot for each ornament. The nutcrackers, trees, and deers are also from Target and were purchased last year (I linked new and similar items from Target this year).
The Stairs
I fell in love with this house because of the staircase and how the entertainment room overlooks the living room. I was really excited to decorate for Christmas because I have been wanting to put garland on our staircase since we moved in & I LOVE the way it turned out! When I was looking for Garland, it was really hard to find what I envisioned and garland can get REALLY expensive. After doing some research, the best & cheapest garland was at Target! I looked at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, & all over Amazon but Target the type of Garland I was looking for at $5 for 9 feet. They were unlit, but Target also have lights for $3. The lights I bought fit on 2 sets of the garland I bought. Our entire stair case from top to bottom was 31 feet, so I bought 4 sets of garland and 2 sets of lights & only spent $26. Plus, there was a Target Circle deal so I saved 20% on the entire purchase! That’s the average price of how much 1 unlit garland was every where else.
Our Main Tree
Our main tree is downstairs & in front of our main window in the living room so that you can see the tree from outside. My tree is the Fast Shape Slim Snow Pine Pre-Lit Christmas Tree – 7 1/2′ from Hobby Lobby but has been discontinued, but I did find a similar one on Wayfair. I have always loved this tree. Every year when I was growing up, my mom and I went to Hobby Lobby and always told her she should get that one but she always got a plain unlit tree so she could decorate her tree herself. Once I finally had my own place I bought this tree and still absolutely LOVE it! Now we even have the same tree upstairs as well in the Entertainment Room. I love the snow, berries, and pinecones all over the tree. I add clip on bird ornaments from Hobby Lobby to my tree every year to give it more of the “outdoor” look and because my grandfather loved birds so its also a little memory of him as well. I also have about 10 years of Starbucks ornaments. My mom and I always bought the Starbucks Bearistas and Ornaments every year for my own little tree I had when I was in middle school and high school. It’s also become a tradition that my mom and I continue to buy both every year. I also have Hallmark Scooby Doo ornaments on my tree from my parents growing up. They always bought me the new one every year (which is also still a tradition). Lastly, I add white ball ornaments and snowflakes.
