Travel Essentials & Carry On Essentials
For the past few years, I have only traveled with a Carry On to make it easier while traveling. My suitcase won’t get lost & I don’t have to worry about being charged extra fees to either bring it on the plane or for extra weight. I have been using the Delsey Carry On Spinner & I absolutely LOVE it. I love the organization, durability, & overall quality of this carry on. Inside my Carry On:
- I ordered this White Set of 8 Packing Cubes from Amazon to maximize storage & to make it easier when traveling. I sorted my clothes by the categories in my packing list: Sleepwear, Tops, Bottoms, & Underwear. This will make it easier to search through my suitcase throughout the trip! I always have to dig through my suitcase despite what type of order I pack my suitcase in. But now I just have to pull out the cube I need!
- The Kendra Scott Travel Jewelry Case came out this year & I have used it for every weekend getaway or trip and LOVE it. I have the large case & use the sectioned part for jewelry & the bag for tech organization. So all of the cables under the Technology categories on my packing list & all of my jewelry will be in this case & this REALLY maximizes storage (important when traveling with only a carry on).
- I also have this Organizer Make Up Bag from Target that I keep everything in! It holds all of my travel sized products, any UD Naked Palette, brushes, & everything else under my Cosmetics category of the packing list.
- The Packing Cube Set has a 14.1×4.7 with a loop on it that I am using to pack my straightener & curling iron.
- I also ALWAYS travel with my Erin Condren On The Go Folio with my Travel Journal inside & a EC Softbound Notebook.
Carry On Travel Tips
- Maximize storage as much as possible. I ordered the Packing Cubes to organize what I’m packing & maximize space.
- During Fall & Winter, wear larger & heavier items on the flight. For example, on our upcoming trip to Virginia, I will be wearing my large chunky sweater & my riding boots. These would take a LOT of space in my carry on.
- Personal Item. Most airlines allow you to have one personal item & one carry on item for free. So make your personal item a large tote. This way you can fit whatever you didn’t fit in your carry on or your souvenirs in your tote. I also keep all of my tech items in my tote so nothing gets broken. I generally travel with my Louis Vuitton Neverfull & can keep everything I need in there. If you only use a clutch or plan on packing a clutch, throw it in the tote.
- Colour coordinate. I always make sure everything matches (even when I don’t travel), but if you color coordinate then you generally reduce the amount of items you need to bring. For example, I generally only wear black & white, for our upcoming trip, I’m brining some maroon pieces & 1 orange item. But everything that I’m packing can be mixed & matched. This also makes life easier on the trip when choosing an outfit because you have several options as opposed to just a few if you dont colour coordinate.
