New Year’s Resolutions

New year means new goals. The new year is the perfect time to start fresh and set new goals & for 2019, the new year is all about intentionality. Intention is a mental state that represents a commitment to carrying out an action or actions in the future. Living a life of intention is all about focusing on goals & living a life of purpose. I am planning how I am going to achieve my 2019 goals & remain focused throughout the year with Erin Condren.

BUDGET
This year I am working on taking control of my finances. I have never really established set amounts for spending and that is my main financial goal for 2019. I am actually going to have a set budget in 2019 & follow Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps. Which I have done before & have already started again so I can pay down/off debt & build credit.
Tools: I am managing my finances & budget in my Erin Condren Budget Book.

WELLNESS
I am kicking off January by doing Whole 30 with my best friend & after 30 days of cutting out everything that’s good in life, I am going to do the 80/20 diet. Whole 30 cuts out all of the junk (& good foods like alcohol, bread, & dairy) & pretty much resets your diet. 80/20 is kind of how it sounds: 80% good food & 20% not-so-good like going out to eat or eating something like bread or cheese. [Note: I will definitely have blog posts about both of these diets] My goal is just to improve my overall health, losing weight will be an added bonus & although you’re not supposed to track your weight during Whole 30, I like to do it because it motivates me. I also want to be more active, I know the gyms will be crowded until Spring Break so I am going to ride my bike I bought a couple of weeks ago more & also plan to walk (or what will end up being running) with Mera around the neighborhood. I also have slipped on taking my vitamins so I do want to incorporate that back into my daily routine.
Tools: To track all of my progress I will be using the EC Wellness Planner for keeping track of activity, habits, meal planning, & overall progress. I also use the EC Meal Planner to go grocery shopping. The Meal Planner helps me plan my meals so I don’t over/under buy, get what I need in one trip, & don’t end up wasting food. The Wellness Planner has the same pages to plan your meals for the week. So I will be using the Meal Planner to go grocery shopping & jot down the ideas/strategy & then finalize my meal plan in the Wellness Planner.

ACADEMIC
I have to take courses in the Spring, Summer & Fall BUT I will have my Master’s in December! This is THE most important goal for me this year. I ordered my LAST Academic Planner & I am so excited because I am so close to finally being DONE with school. Tools: Academic Planner

RELATIONSHIPS
The word for this year is intention & nothing is more intentional than doing something with purpose & expressing gratitude. I am using my EC Stationery to write thank you notes, get well messages, or just handwritten messages on why I am grateful & thankful for my friends & family. My family & friends are always supportive of any goals I make or ambitions I have. & I want to set a goal for the new year to plan time with them & express my gratitude with handwritten notecards.
